What to expect

Initially there is a consultation of your general health, medical history and existing symptoms/conditions. An in depth physical assessment is conducted to help locate the source of the problem. The first appointment lasts up to 90 minutes and includes the following:

  • Full case and medical history
  • Assessment of general health including blood pressure measurement and other tests as indicated
  • Physical examination including orthopaedic tests, as required.IMG_9680

The findings of the examination and any positive test results will be discussed with you. If required and consent is provided, adjustments will be made using McTimoney technique. The anticipated number of follow up appointments will also be discussed with you.

Your chiropractor may sometimes need to ask you to remove some clothing in order to carry out the assessment. Privacy is always respected and a gown is always provided but do tell your chiropractor if you feel uncomfortable about undressing. Some patients prefer to wear sports-style attire such as shorts and a T-shirt and this is perfectly acceptable.
